To my Brothers all and our guests,

On behalf of the College Park-Sandy Spring Alumni of Kappa Alpha Psi, I bring you greetings and best wishes. The year 2011 will be a milestone in our great Fraternity’s history, as we will celebrate its centennial, and I am pleased and honored to serve as chapter polemarch during this momentous period.

One hundred years ago, on Jan. 5, 1911, the dream of 10 visionary men came to fruition: Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. was founded, and has endured and thrived during the 20th Century and into the 21st Century. The Fraternity has produced many men of honor and achievement since its inception. In keeping with this pledge, Kappa men will continue to live up to the purpose of the Fraternity, “Achievement in every field of human endeavor.” Kappa men will continue to achieve as they have for the past century and into the next.

The Fraternity will celebrate this momentous occasion in July 5-10, 2011, in Indianapolis, when we host our 80th Grand Chapter Meeting and Centennial Celebration. Join us as we begin our pilgrimage back to where it all began at Indiana University.

The College Park-Sandy Spring Alumni Chapter was charted on May 15, 2005. Since its inception, the chapter has accomplished many milestones of its own—including being named Chapter of the Year in 2008. Our membership has grown year after year, and we have contributed to our community with scholarships, service programs and social events. Please, take the time to browse through our Web site, especially our calendar of upcoming events as we have a full roster of activities planned for 2010-11.

If you are a Brother in search of a fraternal home, please visit one of our chapter meetings that are held on the third Friday of every month, September through June. If you are not a member but interested in learning more about the Fraternity and membership, please contact one of the officers or any chapter members.

I look forward to serving the Fraternity and the chapter in this upcoming year with great excitement and anticipation. It promises to be one to be remembered.
